New Zealand Rowing Race Officials Association Inc

Welcome
NZRROA was formed as an Affiliate member of RNZ following the 2007 Rowing New Zealand AGM. The Association is entrusted with responsibility for the education, training and qualification of all licensed race officials (LRO) in New Zealand. Rowing New Zealand retains the rights to issue a Race Officials’ Licences to those who qualify. NZRROA maintains an ongoing communication with all its members on all aspects of rowing related to race officiating.
 
Amongst the Objectives as recorded in the NZRROA Constitution are requirements to
 
·         To promote the utilisation of NZRROA members as Race Officials by RNZ and its member Local Associations
·         To liaise with RNZ and its Local Associations on the appointment of Race Officials
·         To develop and disseminate training materials to, and to conduct training courses for those seeking to become Licensed Race Officials
·         To set National Standards and examinations for the evaluation of trainees
·         To establish liaison with similar bodies in other countries and in particular Australia with the aim of establishing best practice for New Zealand
·         To encourage the regular interchange of New Zealand Race Officials with those from other countries and in particular Australia
·         To establish programmes to enable LROs to prepare for and sit FISA examinations
·         To advise RNZ on the Rules of Racing and on their consistency with the FISA Rules of Racing
 
As at December 2008 the inaugural Executive Committee is pleased to record that substantial progress has been made in virtually all these areas.
